Attorney Xanthakos is a founding partner of Xanthakos & Malkovich established in 1988 in Northampton, MA. She has years of civil and criminal litigation experience and a passion for advocating for the underdog. The firm represents victims of discrimination, civil rights abuses, sexual abuse, medical malpractice, personal injuries, including vehicle accidents, and criminal defense. Her previous experience includes working as a Superior Court Assistant District Attorney prosecuting primarily cases of adult and child sexual assault. Prior to returning to Massachusetts, Attorney Xanthakos worked as the Chief Assistant Public Defender for Bay County, Michigan and for Legal Services of Eastern Michigan. She also worked on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee for Senator Kennedy in Washington, D.C., and as a victim/witness advocate in the Rape Unit for the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office.
Attorney Xanthakos is a member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers, a member of the Massachusetts Bar and Michigan Bar (Emeritus status), and is admitted to the U.S. District Courts in Massachusetts and Michigan. She teaches at the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts. Attorney Xanthakos attended Antioch School of Law in Washington, D.C. and the University of Massachusetts (B.A. English Literature, cum laude), and did some graduate work at Northeastern University.
She has performed in the Vagina Monologues, and has joined her friends' band on stage at Lilith Fair and the Great American Music Hall fulfilling her rock and roll dreams.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with Honors and with Distinction from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1978.
